Outdoor and Indoor Ranges
The D.R. Wilson Rifle & Pistol Club offers various shooting facilities:
- 25 & 50 Yard Outdoor Range: Covered shooting stations available for rifles, pistols, and shotguns (with slugs). Open from 10:00 AM to dusk.
- 100 Yard Outdoor Range: Open shooting stations for rifles and shotguns only, available from 10:00 AM to dusk.
- 50 Foot Indoor Range: Open from 9:00 AM until 10:00 PM with shooting positions from 12 to 50 feet. All shooters must shoot from the same distance when multiple people are using the range.
- Access to all ranges is controlled via the OCSC Range Access Card system.
Shooting Clubs and Events
International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA)
The IDPA group practices from May 1st to October 31st on Mondays (10 AM – Noon) and Thursdays (6 PM to dusk), with monthly matches on designated Saturdays. Practices are held at the outdoor Action Pistol Bays near the race track entrance. Practice costs $5 for members and $10 for non-members, while matches cost $20. Registration for matches starts at 9 AM, with shooting beginning at 10 AM.
High Power Rifle
High Power Rifle Match Practice runs from April 17, 2018, to July 17, 2018, on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to dusk. The matches follow the CMP Rifle National Match Course on the 100-yard range. Fees are $5 for OCSC members and $10 for guests. Military-type rifles are welcome, and club-owned M1 Garand and AR-15 rifles are available for members.
Police Pistol Combat
League matches are held on Mondays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with an outdoor statewide match in the summer. Check the club calendar for exact dates.
Conventional (Bullseye) Pistol
The club participates in the South Eastern Michigan Pistol League (SEMPA), with matches held on Tuesday nights from September through May, from 6 PM to 10 PM at the indoor range.
Bowling Pin Shoot
Held on Sundays from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, this event involves four shooters aiming to knock half pins off a table. It is a timed event using .22 caliber semiautomatic or revolver, with red dot or open sights.
Mid-Winter Bullseye Match
An annual indoor bullseye 900 match open to all, attracting competitors from Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. Check the club website for further details and dates.
Fall Hunters Sight-In
The outdoor range is open to both members and the public for hunters to sight-in their firearms on the three weekends preceding the Michigan rifle season, from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
.22 Fun Shoot
During winter months, this fun event is held on Sunday mornings at the indoor range. Shooters of all ages can participate, and targets are provided.
Military Rifle Match
Four U.S. military rifle matches are held each summer on the 100-yard range. Participants can use their own military rifles or rent club-owned M1 Garands for a small fee. Check the club website for exact dates.
