About

The Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club (O.C.S.C.) is a private not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing its members with opportunities for outdoor recreational activities. Established in 1943, the club spans over 200 acres along Waterford Road in Independence Township.

Our Mission and Activities

O.C.S.C. promotes family participation, personal skill development, and community involvement. For more than 65 years, we have been advocates for conservation, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor recreational activities. Our facilities include:

  • Indoor and outdoor archery ranges
  • Pistol ranges
  • 25, 50, and 100-yard rifle ranges
  • Muzzleloading
  • Skeet and trap shotgun ranges
  • Quarter midget racing
  • WHRRI road racing

Community Support and Education

We are committed to supporting local communities through conservation and wildlife education programs, including:

  • DNR-sponsored hunter safety courses
  • O.C.S.C. Jr. Rifle and Archery programs
  • Firearm and weapons safety initiatives

The club also sponsors a Boy Scout Troop and provides educational programs on firearm safety and sportsmanship. We support initiatives such as the Rifle, Shotgun, and Junior Olympic Program for Archery, ensuring a positive impact on Oakland County for over 65 years.

Membership Benefits

Prospective members may wonder, “What am I entitled to? What does the club offer for my annual dues?” Here’s what you can expect:

  • Regular updates on hunting, fishing, and conservation interests
  • A subscription to “The Oakland County Sportsman,” our official publication
  • Membership in the Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC)
  • Monthly meetings on the last Wednesday of each month at 8:00 pm, featuring outstanding hunting, fishing, conservation, and outdoor entertainment

Facilities and Events

Our club offers banquet facilities for rental and a full-service bar open to the public. Join us for our weekly Friday Fish Fry, open to everyone from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

Get Involved

We believe that every outdoor enthusiast, whether interested in hunting, fishing, or conserving natural resources, should belong to an active sportsmen’s club. If you are not a member, we invite you to attend a General Membership meeting as our guest. We also offer club tours most Saturdays at 11:00 am.
